Our Housing Counseling Program provides personalized guidance to help individuals and families understand their options, manage finances, and confidently navigate the journey toward stable, affordable homeownership.
At Tampa Bay Housing Services (TBNHS), we believe that a solid educational foundation will equip homebuyers with the necessary skills and tools to repair credit, climb out of debt, and achieve sound and proper money management. TBNHS teaches consumers the fundamentals of homeownership, including the mortgage process, predatory lending, homeowner insurance, housing repair, expenses & maintenance to name a few.
TBNHS is a HUD Certified Counseling Agency offering counseling to educate the potential homebuyer about the benefits and responsibilities of homeownership. Our HUD Certified Counselors will guide you toward any obstacle and give you some advice to overcome each barrier that you might have.
Participants have the opportunity to assess their current situation and work with our counselors to tailor plans designed to fit their specific needs. Below are some of the services we are certified to provide.
Couples attending the First-time Home Buyers Counseling with plans to purchase a home will require one application. Counseling sessions conform to the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education & Counseling.
